Have you ever really thought about a rainbow? In the Hebrew, the word used for rainbow only includes the “bow”, like the kind you think of as a weapon. God used the rainbow as a reminder that He wouldn’t ever judge His people the way He once did. Think about it like this: if a rainbow is a bow, where would the bow string be? Along the ground. And where would the arrow face? Towards heaven. 

Literally, the rainbow was a symbol of the foreshadowing of God’s judgement of Himself in place of us. That’s crazy love!
